Elle felt desperate for socializing, so she'd posted a note on the hotel bulletin board saying she would have brunch with whoever stopped by the hotel restaurant. She sat at the table, hoping someone would soon join her.

After Elle put non-fat yogurt and some fruit on her plate, she turned and saw that someone was sitting at one of the tables. Deciding to be friendly, she walked over and said, "Excuse me. Would you like some company while you eat?"

Who: Michael and Elle
What: A chance meeting

Elle filled a bowl with crunchberries and non-fat milk. When she turned to find a place to eat, she noticed a man sitting alone. She decided to be friendly, mainly because she was getting very, very lonely here without any of her friends. She walked over to him.
"Excuse me," she said. "Did you want to be alone?"

Elle looked around. She was pretty sure this wasn't any sort of college, but maybe she didn't understand the East coast. Frowning, she approached the woman at the desk.
"Excuse me," she said, "I'm looking for Harvard."
"Harvard shmarvard," Yente said. "This place is much better. This is a place to find your true love. The Match Hotel. Welcome and enjoy your stay."
Elle frowned. "You don't understand," she said. "I've already found my true love. Warner is my true love."
Yente put an arm on her. "If he's your true love, he'll show up here. If not, well, there's plenty of eligible bachelors. In fact, I can set you up on your first date tonight. How about that?"
Elle thought about it. Love was the most important thing in life. And it also didn't seem like she had a choice. So that settled it.
